    MELANIE ANGELINA MARAS

Melanie Angelina Maras is a writer and producer.  Her first play, KISS ME ON THE MOUTH, was directed by Stephen Adly Guirgis and produced by InViolet Repertory Theater Company in November 2009 at Center Stage New York.  KISS ME ON THE MOUTH received rave reviews and had a sold out run.  Variety called it a “contained, smart script” that “exhibits plenty of wit, craft and, most of all, heart.”  KISS ME ON THE MOUTH was a 2010 Princess Grace Award Semi-Finalist.

Most recently, Melanie was associate producer on the Dan Klores film, WINNING TIME:  REGGIE MILLER VS. THE NEW YORK KNICKS, for ESPN’s “30 for 30” series.  WINNING TIME premiered at Sundance 2010.  As a producer, she worked on the independent feature film SAD SACK SALLY (written by company member Jennifer Bowen and official selection of Staten Island Film Festival), the Noah Buschel-penned short, YOU’RE GONNA FEEL FUNNY AFTER (directed by company member Rodrigo Lopresti and official selection of Charlotte Film Festival, Zero Film Festival, and Sunscreen Film Festival), and the upcoming feature I’M NOT ME, (co-directed and co-written by company member Rodrigo Lopresti) which was a participant in the IFP Filmmaker Lab 2010.

Currently, Melanie is developing new works for the screen and stage.  Melanie is a graduate of the Maggie Flanigan Studio.
